Who We Are
PEOPLe, Inc. is a peer-run not-for-profit agency that advocates with and provides recovery-oriented services for people living with mental health issues or trauma.
Being ‘peer-run’ means we’re an agency made up of people with their own personal lived experiences with mental illness, psychiatric diagnoses, trauma, crisis, and most importantly recovery.
We use our mutuality – the shared elements of our stories – to inspire and guide people towards their own lives of wellness; and our collective imaginations & voices drive communities towards better public health through innovation & alternatives.
We provide a diverse range of peer services, including:

- Supported Housing
- Rose House Short-term Crisis Respites

What it means to be ‘Peer-run’
While we’re proud to work & integrate more and more with so-called ‘traditional’ providers, it’s also very important that we remain an agency operated of and by persons with personal lived experiences. This helps us to ensure that our services truly promote the interests of consumers, survivors, patients, and ex-patients, without needing to conform to standards, practices, and values that are not consumer-driven, person-centered, or recovery-oriented. ‘PEOPLe’ stands for Projects to Empower & Organize the Psychiatrically Labeled.
