PEOPLe Promotes Advocacy, Empowerment and Hope

PROGRAMS

Peer Support and Socialization

Recovery is a group effort and we offer opportunities to socialize and integrate into the community. Drop-in centers, social events and support groups provide opportunities to relax in stress-free environments.
It's fun to get together and socialize with peers and make new friends. PEOPLe give individuals an opportunity to experience activities within their communities. Such activities include: dances, movies, Broadway plays, cooking, Nights Out, etc.

Multi-Cultural Outreach

We have undertaken the mission of serving mental health consumers with mutli-cultural backgrounds and with those who under-utilize established mental health services. We offer assistance in developing alternative programs designed to address the unmet needs of mental health consumers.

Employment Services

Providing individualized services to assist persons with psychiatic labels in obtaining or inquiring about employment. Ask about the Medicaid Buy-In! It allows one to return to work and maintain medical coverage for very little cost!

Hospital Diversion

Providing residents of Orange and Ulster county with an alternative to hospitalization. We provide a safe haven for individuals either in-home or at our Rose House in Milton, NY. Individuals receive peer support and explore non-traditional or complimentary methods to divert psychiatric crises.

Peer and Systems Advocacy

We employ people in recovery to help others achieve recovery and wellness based on self-determination. Our advocates work to protect and promote changes to the mental health system. We excel in offering peer-advocacy training.

Community Integration/Supported Housing

Having a safe place to live is fundamental to recovery. We offer several options in housing assistance to help empower people to live on their own in the community on their own terms. Our housing program serves Dutchess, Ulster and Orange County residents.

Suicide Prevention

PEOPLe, Inc will come to your school and present a suicide prevention program for staff and students. It is free of charge and is funded by a grant from The Community Foundation of Dutchess County. Call PEOPLe at 845-452-2728 to schedule a session or for more information.
